I had an incient while working on my car and lost a pretty good bit of trans. fluid. So my question is how much fluid does a 91' auto hold? And can I mix some B&M trickshift with whatever is left in the tranny? TIA
I donno about mixing fluids, but I suspect it isn't a problem. Without pumping all the fluid out, you can't drain it all... so some of the old has to stay.
My 95 A4 took 14 1/2 quarts of Mobil synthetic ATF. They will mix but why use a clearly inferior (standard) ATF fluid than the Mobil 1- especially without using an external ATF cooler?
14 1/2 quarts - thats right at 3 1/2 gallons, I don't think it holds that much fluid. I really need to get this car back on the road, supposed to head down to Cruisin The Coast Thurs. aft. Thanks, Dave

Most any Good brand name transfluid that's compatible with your spec.
I think it's Decron III now for yours.
I use a non synthetic.
My trans get rebuilt every two-three years and I flush it every year.
But then I pound the crap outta mine.
In my truck, I use regular trans-fluid as well. I flush that every 25,000 miles.
I have nothing against syn. It's just that in my corvette I find that regular trans fluid bites better giving me the crisp shift I need.
My two cents, again
