Electrical Wizard needed..VATS
Found my problem to be broken wire at switch that can't be repaired. Anyone know the value of resistor needed to by pass switch for now?
Key value is 2 by reading the ohms.

Take your key to a chevy dealer and they can read the number of Ohms off your key. Then go to radio shack and get one.
Or since you know the key code value is 2 call the dealer and they may have the chart to tell you the same info.
Or call Mid America and get a VATS bypass for your car. I think its about 28 bucks. You will need they key value for that when ordering.

Measure the pellet resistance with an ohmeter (a digital one) and buy the nearest standard value (within 5%) 1/4 watt 5% resistor from Radio Shack and connect it to the wires going to the VATS module.

On my way to Radio Shack. Hope they have someone who has at least three working brain cells. Called them left me on hold to 10 min. Been calling back for over a half hour..left the phone off the hook..... GOD help.....Guess he'll be able to have a quiet day
