Default Roller rockers

My buddy is giving me a set of 1.5 self aligning roller rockers I wanted to know if the 95 LT1 has a roller cam and lifters stock if not would this upgrade be worth doing?

I'm sure all LT1s are roller cam set ups. The 1.5 ratio is the same ratio that is stock on your stamped rockers, so there will be no gain in performance there, however, they will make your valve train much more efficent (less friction) and theorically, give you a few more ponies. I installed the Crane Gold self aligning rockers (1.5s) when I first bought my Vette 4 years ago. I would have gone with 1.6, but there was a spring binding possiblity on the 92 LT1s.

1.5 roller rockers are worth about 10 hp over stamped rockers. 1.6's will give you another 5hp. less friction give you hp. it is definately worth doing especially if their free..

considering you are going with self-aligning and 1.5 ratio you will not have to change springs , pushrods, or guideplates, the stock ones will work fine. you will have to clearance the stock valve covers for the bigger rocker arms or buy an aftermarket set already clearanced.basicly you will need to grind the drip tabs down and most likely take some meat off the bolt supports.

Yes the drip tangs have to be cut off. I used a dremel tool and a small cutting wheel, just leave a little nub. With the Cranes, no need to mess with the supports. They do look cool, but who can see them?

Strick! what did you do about the breather box in the passenger side valve cover? Can you leave it too?

With the Crane Gold narrow bodies the breather boxes were not an issue. With the Comp Pro Magnums I had to crush the snot out of the boxes for clearance.
