Default what mods next?

what should be my next couple of mods?
each one being under $300 and I will install myself!

would an electric water pump help with hp? is it worth the hp?
what could i expect to sell my old pump with nothing wrong with it?

I have a 1996 auto lt1 with:
K an N open Air lid, BBK 52 mm tb, Hedman Full length ceramic Coated Headers( by www.Procryo.com), Muffler Eliminators, ASP Underdrive Pulleys, accel wires.

Ebay...well under 100 bucks. New ones can be had for 153 from Superior Chevy. I don't know your mileage, but regardless, there's nothing wrong with your waterpump....*yet*. Mine went a 45k.

As for your next mods - I would seriously consider suspension or brake upgrades...

An electric water pump isn't going to make your car noticeably faster.

Look at porting the intake plenum/base and runners. Improve flow throughout the intake setup. If you have someone else do it, that would be around that price of $900 I would imagine. Or, for 900, you may be able to get a new intake base. I would also consider a cam, but keep in mind you'll likely need a chip afterward as well. I also don't know LT1s very well, I'm building up my L98 and mainly focus on that. Sounds like that should be step 1 though, intake manifold and base/runners work.

Pretty sure I'm familiar with the 96... Install some suspension mods, and then take a run up Hwy 9 from Alpharetta clear to Dahlonega. Going fast in a straight line is fun, but you ain't felt nothin' til you've done it through a turn!

He's got an LT1 - there is no "base and runners" like an L98.

Default Few suggestions

Just a few suggestions..
Port and polish heads and manifold or get a new set (expensive)
Granatelli Mass Air Flow Sensor ($270)
Hypertech Power Programmer ($300)
TB coolant bypass (free)
Im not as experienced as some of the other guys around here so maybe they can reply to which mods would be the best. Of course the first option would give the most power but at a high price. I can tell you that I reprogrammed my computer on my 95LT1 auto and it made a huge difference. Shifts much harder now and at a higher rpm. I picked up a hypertech programmer for around $200 on ebay. I did the coolant bypass too but don't think it's enough to notice. I have seen a steady increase of 5 hp from that one on dyno charts of other vettes and it can be done for under $10. By the way, has anyone had any experience with the Granatelli MAF sensor on a late model LT1? Can you get 10 to 15 rwhp like they claim?

with rick also. Skip the electric water pump and do 1.6roller rockers($265) and maybe an LT4 intake($289). Also I would get a custom tune for your car. The other big thing would be a cam swap, but thats a pretty big

Forget about the gran. MAF it's .....the computer will adjust and you are back to square one...

for three hundred or less get a used hypertech for later use you can up the rev limiter now and have the hypertech ready when you do gear change...also the hypertoy can allow you turn fans come on sooner.... other than that...oh yea performance mufflers...
my choice list
1. hypertech
2. mufflers
3.tranny cooler this might be a sleeper must have!!
4. tune-up ........................peace!!!

no hypertech!!!!!
i will eventually get custom tune!

1.6 rockers and lt4 intake!!! i like that!
what hp gains will I see with these?

are the 1.6 rockers a direct replacement?
should I wait and spring for the lt4 hotcam kit (which includes the 1.6 cranes)
or are there better cams for the $?
remember eventually(meaning in a year or so) im going to stage 2 heads!
thanks alot

3.73 gears will wake it right up, all that motor stuff like your 52mm TB is a waste untill you consider doing an entire upper end package.
Save you money all that little stuff by itself means nothing.

well ive already bought that man....haha
yes I understand that. each does about 5-10 hp here and there
I plan on getting stage 2 heads but its 1k and i dont ahve that right now. thats a big deal, im just trying to do smaller things(small as in.. well under $500 not 300..to be realistic)

would it be better to get the hot cam package before i did the heads or after?

My advice is don't waste your money & time on little bolt ons, Save your money you'd spend on those and do your heads and cam swap all at the same time. I'd also plan on a stall and some gears like Mackey said.

The cheapest fix for middle to high mileage vettes is: plugs, wires and a new fuel filter. Did work for me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the mounting surface on the heads at a different angle on the LT4 intake than on the LT1? It won't bolt onto his heads he's gotta swap heads to use the LT4 intake.

And doesn't he already have 1.6 rockers with the LT1? They came stock, right?

If I had an A4 LT1, the first mods I'd do is a Trans-Go shift kit (~$120)and a 2400-2800 RPM stall speed torque converter ($300~$600).

If I was looking to get better handling, I'd do 30mm/26mm swaybars with poly bushings and end links ($250~$300).
