i changed my oil the other day and when i bought my 5w30 mobil 1 i noticed that they have a performance driving forumla. i'ts like 15w50!! my car has 60k miles on it and i daily drive it, but i drive it hard. is this something i could benefit from or should i stick with the 5w30? or which weight should i use? i'm in sc climate thanks

Stick with the lighter wieghts.
Summer 10-30 the rest of the year 5-30.
I run my motor hard and my engine builder recommends 10-30.
My two cents.
By the way. I blew oil all over the track on Sunday. Didn't even know it as it was a solo run and did not look in my mirrors.
My point is that oil was gone at the end of the return lane.
Thanks to Mobil 1 no engine damage.

You'll be just fine with the 5w30. The 15w stuff is for *serious* racers...not just those of us who drive hard (which, compared to the beating race cars take, is considered gentle).
