What is required to install 4.10 gears in my Dana 44? Without going to garage to check build plate, I seem to recall having 3.54 gears at present. Do I only need gears, or is a new carrier required?

Factory gears are 3.45's Your 44 will hold them quite nicely. You *may* have to touch the case with a dremal tool just a shade in rare cases. I had tons of clearance in mine. I got mine from Al Kindler. You will need to either change the speedo gears in the tail shaft of the tranny or use a Hypertech to reprog the computer. I opted for the gears so the software would be "virgin" when I start using the LT1(4) editing program.
BTW These gears are super quiet! I have NO complants other than I can't keep out of my rev limiter in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, but that's a driver problem not a car problem

Hey
I got mine from AL Kindler as well, they are hobbed and some other stuff, and fit perfectly. All you really need is the ring and pinion, and someone who has experience at putting it together.
Good luck
