EGR Pipe Removal

I'm in the process of removing the EGR pipe on my '86 iron head and I'm having trouble removing the clamp that connects the EGR pipe to the exhaust. Can this clamp be chiseled off or will I be damaging the pipe in any way? Should I buy a new EGR pipe or is it ok to reuse the original one? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I stuck a screwdriver in and pried until the tube would slip out. It's hard to get it sealed back up. GM sells new clamps (~$5) and Grainger sells the crimper (~$20). I tried pliers, dull side cutters, visegrips, channel locks - nothing would fit in there with enough force to crimp the new clamp tight. The Grainger tool did it first try.
If the EGR pipe is not leaking or about to rust through, re-use it.
