They are an excellent tire... but very soft so life span is pretty pathetic. For a cruiser car, I don't recommend them because of the life span issues... but for racing or a fun afternoon on the twisties, they are a fantastic tire and cost effective too.
I had some Kuhmos on my Cougar and loved them!!! They stay planted to the road, but I only got 18k miles out of them and had to trash them... not good for a daily commuter car in my oppinion.
i have the 712's and i have about 35000 k's or 22000 miles on them!
Those kuhmo 712's arent' that great. squeal around corners. will slip if you push them. i had a set of Yoko a032r's, a set of general H rated tires. and more recently and still now a set of Goodyear eagles. the eagles are alot more responsive than the kuhmo. if i were just driving this car to and from work or around town. maybe. but once in a while i like to see what i can do in an autocross. and once these tires are tested. they fail
I have Kumho MX's on my car, I love 'em compared to the Goodyear F-1's that were on the car when I got it. Much less harsh, quieter, and 'way stickier. CD player skips alot less, and ASR pops on alot less, no kidding. Went to a track day @ Willow Springs with them, they were awesome. I'd buy 'em again without a second thought. Oh yeah, they are cheap like dirt too, I got more than I paid for.
