Default another TB question

i know this has been beat to death but i want everyones input none the less.
i have a mostly stock LT4 save for some exhaust work and im about to put a 53.5mm TB on it with a built in airfoil and do the TB coolant bypass at the same time.
WS6.com shows this DOES help a rather nice amount.
that is also with an LT1.
i cant help but think it would do more with an LT4.
any thoughts?

330 RWHP with my mods and original TB
340 RWHP with 52mm TB within 30 minutes of the above result.
Of course, my other mods helped show the difference.
I tried with and without the airfoil. No difference. Don't waste money on the airfoil.

10 hp and 8 or 9 torque difference is well worth the difference in 48 and 52mm in my opinion. YMMV.

I dunno, I checked your mods and you probably wouldn't benefit from the larger T/B yet. I.M.H.O. your stock T/B is capable of handling the airflow you got going through it now. A nice set of long tube headers along with a cam, ported heads then I would look at the T/B if you needed it. Lots of guys are making good Horsepower with the stock T/B. You could probably gain more horses going with the long tubes. Now, the new throttle body DOES look sweet though. Looks alone are worth the $$ sometimes

WS6.com shows over 7hp and over 6ft/lbs of torque increase on just the bypass alone. i have the LT4 and he had th LT1 so im thinking all mods would provide me with more power than his? am i wrong?

that bypass only helps when its warm outside!
what it does is make the hott as #$%$ coolant not go through the TB
that coolant you know is about 215 F. a colder charge is the best! thus it heats up the outside air robbing you of hp!
yes it gives you hp, but i mean if you are doing 1/4 mile or a dyno you wont see any thing! because it takes awhile for the coolant to get to 215! so basically it just takes the coolant temp affect out of the equation! so what ever the outside temp is is pretty much what you are getting. because normally as the car heats up you loose a slight bit of hp from this because the air taken in becomes hotter from the coolant!

i dont have a dyno
and i havent had my car dynoed or 1/4 miled
but i put a 52 mm tb and i felt a noticable difference
the throttle is alot more responsive!
its a good up grade no matter what people say!
but agian you're gonna want Lont tubes with it. the car can only breath in as much as it can put out!!

53.5mm is real interesting as the throttle body openings on the intake manifold are 52mm!!!!!! Look what happened to MaddMaxx.....

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...highlight=58mm

Seems you would want to open your intake to at least 53.5mm!!!!!

BTW I am running a 58mm throttle body & opened my intake to 58mm...also did the tb bypass long time ago...
