I have replaced the original opti on my 92 with a dynaspark unit.
The dynaspark does not come with the female connector. As I read now, I was supposed to save that original connector from my failed opti to add to the dynaspark. Apparently the plug is too expensive to add to the $600 dynaspark.
So, if anyone is replacing their generation 1 opti with another - I would love to buy your old one. (for a very very small token cash amount plus shipping.)
Or, I'll just hardwire the thing in.
Son of a female dog.... This baby has been out of commission since June.
I might have one laying around. Exactly what piece are you needing? The connector for the wire harness on the opti? I assume you have to disect the opti to get it out. You mean the dynaspark doesn't come with this?
Turns out I didn't make a mistake. Lucky me! The part in question is the 17" wiring harness extension from the opti to a connector under the fuel rail area on the passenger side of the engine.
It's this connector on the passenger side of the intake. The 92 is different from the 93 and later. I looked and couldn't find one any where. I don't even think GM has any.
They don't include the plug on the DynaSpark because of the several different styles of plugs and I believe some where switched mid year. When I first switched over to the factory style '95 Vented opti, the harness for it doesn't plug into the '94. We cut and soldered the wires. When I had to replace the harness because of corrosion I realized the difference was a small tab on the inside of the connector. There was one tab extra. I took a small exacto knife and cut out that extra tab and now it'll plug into the '94 end. When I got the DynaSpark, they just pulled the pins from the plug with the tool that's provided and pushed in the DynaSparks pins.

Yea - I figured that out after reading the directions a few more times. A little slow - but it's all back together now.
