So I gotta replace the radiator...no biggie. It in fact IS very simple and took about 30 mintues with curiuos time included.
1..First funny...The surge tank and overflow tank are nice and green...so you would think the rad is the same..WRONG....it was mostly water....just a hint of green.LOL. At least it was all clean.
2..I found about 10 large Oak leaves..and a large wing nut in the space between the rad and condensor.LOL.No $20's though
3...Managed to drop the hood on my head twice... Nice hood prop design by the way!!
4....I decided good time to drop the oil and filter..time for Mobil1..OMG tight oil pan bolt.I had doubts at first on its survival..lol....the oil filter was a make I have NEVER seen..came off nice and easy though..so be it.The oil looked great.Dirty but no bad signs....water metal etc..
5......Still dumbfounded by how simple the radiator was to remove...
Next time you plan to spend a lot of time under the hood, stick a screwdriver into the hood prop and you wont have it on top of you any more.. I got hit twice before I figured that out...
Just be extremely careful if you are replacing the radiator. Those 2 little plastic ears on the Low Coolant Sensor just love to break. I know.they did it to me and they are not a common stock item.
