Code 34 MAF
I ran the checks in the Helms manual for code 34 and everything points to the MAF sensor. If I pull the connector, code 33, idle does smooth out some, and I have 12 volts coming to the MAF connector. Coincidence, or am I missing something relating to the exhaust?
Are the aftermarket MAF sensors acceptable for a bone stock engine? The price of the Delco is right salty! I have searched MAF in the forums and see that AutoZone carries them. Would this be a terrible compromise? I want to save money like the next guy, but if the Delco is that much better, so be it. A couple of hundred dollars savings can be spent for more goodies.
Sorry to be so long, any thoughts/opinions on the issue of the exhaust vs MAF and price of part would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, in advance, this is a great place!
Charlie
If those fail, see if you can find a used MAF from a 3rd Gen F-body car in a bone yard.
I'm now running the MAF from my '86 IROC in the '88 Vette.
