got new cam installed and the custom chip didnt raise my idle. my mechanic turned the screw on the throttle body and raised the idle to about 700 or so. it was around 500 and almost died when put into gear.
is it ok to adjust this or is it supposed to be left alone?
Other than reprogramming, there is no way to raise the idle speed of any fuel injected engine. The screw, for an LT1, is an air bleed. It should be left alone. Find a mechanic who knows fuel injection so that it can be turned back to where it belongs and then buy a two way scanner or find someone that can reflash the PCM so that it idles with the cam you've installed.
