What size stall is everyone running in their daily drivers. I keep hearing that you can get away with a 3000-3200 Vigilante. I just don't want to get something that the wife complains about when she drives it

For an L98 on the street 2,000-2,600 is pretty good; for an LT1 you might want to go close to 3,000.

With the 2,000rpm TC in my '88 launch at the strip is much stronger but on the street it's hard to tell the difference from the OEM 1,500rpm, unless you hammer it at a light.

I have a Art Carr 3000stall in mine but its not a daily driver. I would go at least 3000 if you want good performance.

I had a 2400-2600 B&M in it before when it was a daily driver and I swear there was NO difference in performance. Didn't even feel it!

Depends what combo you have, if yours is just a regular L98, then you really dont need more than 2400rpm unless its a drag-only car.

And you definitely dont want a 3000 for a daily driver in that car, the stall will act funny in regular driving, it'll feel like the tranny is broken.

It will be in a 383 LT1. I have a 2000 stall in my L98 right now, and it's really not that noticable. My BBC malibu has a cheap 3000 stall, but that thing idles at 1100rpms and it's not a daily driver, so it doesn't help me determine squat.

Everyone with the Vigilantes seem to say that the're pretty 'tight' for everyday driving.

I have an SLP 2400 behind my modded LT1 and I like it. I wish it was higher for drag racing, but the car is a true street car and must perform as well as possible in all situations. I would not want a 3000+ stall for daily driving. I drove a modded TA with a Yank 3200 and it was not what I would call "tight". Everytime I would take off normal, it would sound like I was learning how to drive a stick. (slipping the clutch) It was fun however. If I was to do it all over again, I would go just a touch higher. 2600-2800. Good luck!!!

Mine in my L98 stalls around 2200 and it gives a noticible jump off the line but isnt too terribly annoying in daily driving...

Mine is a daily driver and I'm using a 2600 Vigilanty, it's cool for everyday and hooks up pretty good at the track...

I am running a 2800 Vigilante on the street with no problems and it's not noticeable or an annoyance during daily driving. When it flashes, look out.

I've been very happy with the setup.

I'm using a 2200 stall up from the stock rated 1400 it seems fine for a daily driver, I agree with the above post 2800 would probably be the max I would consider... plus dealing with the additional heat that goes with it you should also consider a larger additional trans cooler..
