I have read that some have gutted their cats and improved sound and performance. Has anyone gutted their cats wth a Corsa system? Can I gut the cats without removing them from the car? If so, what is the method for gutting on the car?
Those are expensive cats to hog out like that... I'd just have new head pipes fabbed up. Keep the cats or sell them on ebay. You'll have tons more space under the motor too.

The LT1 cats flow so well, there's probably not 5 hp to be gained on the average mildly modded LT1. Eliminating the resonator would probably gain you more than trashing your cats and help keep the air cleaner.
I was thinking about long tubes....
Will they bolt up directly to the Corsa Cat Back system? If not does someone sell adapters tomake them bolt up. Thirdly, Does someone have a long tube part number which works well with 93 LT1?
Unless you live rural, I wouldn't do anything that might cause the car to fail an emissions test. Emissions testing is going to become a LOT more widespread accross the USA in the next 5 yrs. As a measure of the flow rate of the stock cats, the high-flow Random Technology brand bullet cats only flow about 10% higher than the stockers.
There was a group purchase on some brand of long tubes for LT1 posted on the forum just last week I think, can't remember brand but I thought I read where they mentioned fitting up to Corsa catback system with a minor alteration.
If you plan on installing the Corsa yourself, the instructions say to re-use the 3 factory studs/bolts on the catalytic converter. Most likely these parts are shot and will need to be replaced so plan on getting an extra set before the install.
Actually I did order from Mid America, and got them delivered for $730 with shipping. Attended a vette rally in Columbus Ohio, and Mid America was handing out catalogs and a key code for 10% off anything in the catalog.

Exotic Muscle LT headers will work with RT cats and a Corsa catback - no cutting required. The RT cats come from EM prewelded in pipes that go between the header collectors and the Corsa. Beautiful setup - it's what I have, and I'm very happy with the sound and performance!

Ok, I finally got the old system out. The two nuts came off the converter, but the bolt broke in half. I tried every tool in my shop to get the bolt out of the cat, but nothing worked. I finally ruined 12 drill bits drilling the bolt out of the cat. What a nightmare.
I am seriously considering installing long tubes. Does anyone have any long tubes which will fit with the Corsa's. I live in Ohio and we do not have emissions testing, and being a 93 there is no O2 sensor after the cats.
Can I use headers, and leave the cats off? Or is there a header system which bolts onto the cats?
