The good news is that I found the leak that caused second gear to chew up. The bad news is that I'm having trouble getting my hands on another one. It's been like two months and $1300 bucks since I have been able to drive her! No quick end is in sight either!
Anyway, does anyone have or know where I can find a reverse gear case to my 4+3 trans? My hope is that someone has one cluttering up their garage and would love to be rid of it.
Yo BlkMagik, I have a friend here in Cleveland that we just put a T-56 6/Speed in. He is selling his 3+4 Tanny and Overdrive unit. Email me at Quick69vete@yahoo.com
Carl, let me guess, the reverse gear housing cracked around one of the bolt holes where it bolts to the 4-speed case, probably along the bottom....that's a very common place for them to crack.
It wasn't me who posted about the cracking - It was Black Majic. I'm just looking for a cheap 4+3 o run for the next 6 months till we do a conversion putting in a ZZ4 and a 6 speed. But since you asked - I have a 4+0 - I'm thinking it's just the cable - but the reverse quits working under any load - I can back up when it's perfectly level - but any slope or loose road surface means the reverse wont work. I had some tranny work done ,at least they say they did it - but I don't believe em.
Anyway I just want to put in something easy and quick - so I can go sliding around the mountain roads and do a few autocrosses until we get ready for the big changeover.
