Default got car back-

got my 92 back 2 days ago. had heads ported, polished, and 3 angle valve job ; comp cam 224/230 .544 112lsa ; mezeire ; 1.6 rockers; pro magnum lifters; and custom chip

car has 2.59 gears

doesnt feel like a ton of power was gained. i dont know if this is because the majority of the power will be up top or what. i can tell its faster all around- but now what i expected.

i am gonna go to 3.73 next week

hopefully this will help bring down the power curve ?

what do yall think? should there be a big diff in the low and med rpm range?

yes- i dont get any more tire spin than before- it seems to start pulling harder after 60mph or so. it is running rich also- but i hae been told that that wont make it lose any power

hm. Sounds to me like the 2.59s might be robbing you of throttle response... maybe...

but I am more inclind to think it's running too rich at lower RPMs and bogging down.

When I got my 383 Stroker back I felt the same way. What I did is have Ski_dwn_it on the forum burn me a chip and it made a world of difference! Just from you stating your engine is running rich is a sign to me of a bad tune. I will also be going with a new rear but you should feel a big difference before the gears.

Are you using a stock convertor? Gears and a stall should put ya right in the sweet spot! Also take it to a dyno and have a wideband o2 ran.
This will show you where your A/F ratio is really. My car seems rich at idle but 3000+ it was super lean, bumped my FP to 50 and its still lean.
I should have took it to the dyno first thing, I'm just glad I didn't beat on it too much before I found the lean conditon.

i'll bet your chip needs another look at reprogramming. your either going to need some datalogging done by someone you know, at a dyno (least preferred due to extra cost), or by the guy who did your chip to begin with (best scenario)

Instead of 3.73's you might want to think of a set of headers instead. If your cats are clogged they are gonna kill your exhaust flow and pretty well deaden any mods you make.

so u think my cats may be clogged?

i got a newbie question- the manifolds come off to something on each side. these then go to the middle of the car and back out to the muffler. is it cats, resonator, mufflers- or resonators, cat, muffler
