Default My Dyno Results...

Got in three pulls today at a local get-together with a great bunch of fellow vette owners (plus an F-Body and a Vega!). I was actually pretty pleased with my numbers, but my car seems to be running pretty lean straight across the board.

1st pull:
317hp / 317tq ... 79* outside, 27% humidity

2nd pull:
324hp / 325tq ... 81*, 27%

3rd pull:
323hp / 322tq ... 81*, 26%

Air/Fuel was somewhere between 14.5-15.0, and it was straight as a board all the way across. On the first pull, there was a pretty sharp dip and recovery (about 15hp/tq) between 5500RPM and 6k. There was a similar, though less drastic, drop on the second pull at exactly the same spot on the curve. On the third pull, it was completely smooth. I'm not sure what the deal was there - the tech said maybe some kind of electrical gremlin or mild detonation? I dunno. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the numbers all in all. Unfortunately, I don't have any baseline numbers to compare it to, but I just imagine that my LT4 made (stock) right around what others made (290ish).

Get an Adjustable fuel pressure regulator and give her some gas!
I'm not sure whats causing you to be so lean. What psi is it set at now? Nice gains still!

Very nice numbers. I was waiting to see what you put down considering we have a very close setup!

Awsome job

EDIT... post that dyno sheet too! 14-15:1 A/F is pretty darn lean. Get some fuel in there like they said above

Nice #'s! Did you do your long tubes with cats after you had your Corsa exhaust? Reason I ask is I heard a LT1 with Corsa, LT heardes without cats and it was obnoxiously loud. I was wondering if the RT cats help a little or a lot with noise levels...

I don't have a scanner, so I don't know how I can upload it. I suppose I could always just take a pic of the page, and then upload that. Yeah...that should work with enough light. Sounds like an AFPR is in the future for me!

Yeah - The cats help bring the noise down a*lot*. I did my Corsa back in Feb. or so, and it was really quiet. The headers just went on last month, and it woke the sound up a little bit, but nowhere near what catless cars sound like. Don't get me wrong - at 5,000-6500 RPM on the dyno - my car was SCREAMING! But in terms of normal everyday driving, if you run headers *with* cats and a Corsa, you will be perfectly happy. It's still very very quiet at cruise speeds/rpms.

Here's that printout...

Blue was my first pull - you can see that drastic drop between 3500 and 4000 on that run. I don't know really what caused that, but it didn't do it on the other two. Red was my 2nd (and best) pull, but there was still the little "droop" in the upper RPM range. Green was the last pull - HP numbers virtually the same, and Tq was just 3 lb.ft lower.

I was there also - My best pull was 294rwhp - 309 lb/ft tq...... with the mods in my sig. Mine was also very lean.... detonating above 5500 rpm. I think I'll do some headers...hi flo cats....and go back to the dyno.

Awesome! Then heads/cam...then bottom end...then forced induction...then part the car out! J/k. You guys would've had to have been there to get that one. If you are really gonna do headers, get in on that Exotic Muscle group purcase and save yourself $100.

So what should I do? New O2 sensors? AFPR? Injectors? I definitely wanna get that fixed if it's something that (as it sounds) is that dangerous...

Baby steps....... that's what I'm trying to convice myself to take. I have JBA headers on my work bench....gotta keep it legal

Heads and cam aren't far off. Crane makes a cam with a CARB EO#. Who knows.........maybe by the summer dyno day ( hint hint)

AFPR! You have 28.8Lb injectors now, there is no need to get anything bigger until you get a bigger borrom end, and even then it's debatable. Get the AFPR and see if you can get ahold of a scanner to see the readings from the O2's if you want to check them.

Seems to me you need to get your computer reprogrammed......

O2 sensors don't come into play at WOT......

I think reprogramming injectors is better than AFPR, but I suppose either approah will work..

Your stock injectors ought to be adequate for this horsepower level...

To be honest though I have to really question whether the A/F monitor on the dyno was really working.....I have never seen such a straight line..and the red line is flat from even before the start????

Great results from your mods.....

Great numbers.

Cam and Heads are a must! Although I got great results with the stock LT4 heads!!

I'm going to wait till Jan '05 to order my Longtubes, and HiFlo Cats.

Weather will be ****ty around here soon enough anyway!

Hopefully I am making the same power, I have the identical setup. I would like to see the numbers for my LT4. So how is the A/F measured? What is it supposed to be, or ideal for this setup?

I agree with all of the above....get it dynoed somewhere else and compare the A/F.
