Default Passenger side outside lock

My passenger side outside door lock will not unlock the doors, I have checked continuity and the switch is good. Any ideas of what the problem could be? The drivers side works fine from the outside and so do both inside power switches.

It sounds like the lever has slipped off the outside key mechanish.

You will need to remove the inner door panel and maybe the lower rear access panel to correct the problem.

Or is it that you can't turn the key all the way? Then you could buy some powder not sure of the name but you stick the tube in the key slot and the powder would eat away the corasion in the lock making it so you can turn it all the way. Not realy sure what your talking about.

When I cycle the outside passenger lock with the key it won't unlock. The two wires coming from the lock itself have continuity when I cycle the key to unlock the door. That would tell me the key mechanism is good. where do the two wires go from the outside door lock? Thanks

I'm pretty sure it goes to the alarm system. If someone tries to mess with the lock it will set off the alarm. I think you should be looking at the linkage assembly between the lock pawl and the latch mechanism. You'll have to remove the door panel to at least look at it. And possibly remove the inner door panel to work on it.

There Is Nothing Electrical About Your Outside Door Lock With Respect To Unlocking Thst Door. The Lock Mechanism Is Strickly Mechanical Your Solanoid And It's Wiring Are Fine Or Your Inside Electrical Switches Would Not Function. As Stated Above, The Rod To The Latch Mechanism Has Come Loose. The Back Of The Lock Is Attached To A Part Called A Paw. The Paw Is Connected To A Rod With A Plastic Fastener. The Rod Decends To The Door Latch Mechanism. When The Key Is Tured, The Lock Cylinder And Paw Rotate, And Apply Force And Movement To The Rod Which Mechanically Locks Or Unlocks The Door Latch Mechanism. On The Back Of The Lock Cylinder, Held In Place By The Paw Is A Rotating Switch. This ****ch Generally Arms Or Disarms The Alarm/security System.

That was it. The rod on the back of the cylinder has broken or come loose it looks like. It is just hanging there. It looks like I need midget hands to repair this. Looks like it could be a PITA to fix.
