So tonight i drive, let the car warm up, drive for about 8-10minutes... get out of my car, it idles for about 3 minutes, then i go turn it off... i didnt lock it... go back about 20 minutes later and it wont start...
Not like the battery is dead start... but its not even turning over. Everything inside works fine, all lights come on etc... you know how you have to put the clutch down to start it...Well this feels like what it does when you dont put the clutch down... like i turn the key all the way and nothing happens... i dont kno if this is a computer problem or what? even with the battery on the fan turns on and everything... so now my car is sitting 10 minutes from my house jus sitting. I am udderly confused....
Sounds like a VATS problem? Maybe try a different key to start it?
One of my keys for my '89 is bad, if you try to start the car with it's similar to what you described--the interior lights and everything are fine, but no juice goes to the starter.
Also, I think there's a 3 minute lockout after an attempt with a bad key before it will start with a good key.
Might check your battery and starter connections too-also your starter could be going-same thing happened to me, and it turned out to be starter.I took a long piece of metal and rapped the starter when this happened and it started right up-but if you do, be careful not to hit electrical connections cause it'll spark like 4th of July.
