After following the advice of several posts on this forum, and following through the diagnostic test in the service manual, I've pretty much decided the EGR valve is stuck open and needs replaced. Unfortunately, the dealership said they had two different EGR valve listings for the 86. Does anyone know how to tell which one to purchase?
The dealer told me to look at the one I have, which should have numbers stamped on it. I have two problems with that. First, there is no guarantee that the valve on the motor is correct, second, I have to take the plenum off and I'd rather have the replacement part ready so I don't have to wait five days for it with the plenum in pieces.
