clutch/tranny question on the ruby

Hi everyone, I'm posting from out of state. I called my husband to say hello and he tells me that the Ruby is having clutch or tranny problems. PLEASE HELP!!!
I've been having some problems getting it to go into gear first thing in the morning, and when it's going into gear stiff it seems to roll when you release the clutch but don't press the gas
Today he said that happened and when he pushed the clutch down it was mush. He thinks it might be the clutch spring but then his dad told him it doesn't HAVE a spring but is hydraulic.

FYI for those who helped on my 4+3 question, the OD seems to be working now, WEIRD!

Classic clutch master / slave cylinder problem. You can try to bleed the system, but replacement is usually necessary.
If it were mine, I would replace the master, slave and line. Bleed the heck out of it, and only use GM hydraulic clutch fluid or it will squeak like crazy.
Fix this soon or damage to the ZF can occur. The classic symptom is trying to get it into reverse first thing in the morning or when cool, if the gears grind or it feels notchy you have the problem.

BTW, it always seems that the vette's seem to have problems after a hubby drive. hmmmmmmm.

Temporary fix- just top off the master and work the pedal. In case hubby doesn't know, the master is under the computer.
