After reading through archives for several days, I've come up with a list of stuff I'd like to do to my 86 and have a couple questions about items I'm still not sure on.
The car is an 86, 70K miles, auto, all original.
K&N air filter
Open air cleaner lid up.
160 or 180 deg Tstat. (Live in central FL)
Switch or chip to turn fan on sooner.
Replacement mufflers or elims.
TPI air foil
TPS performance switch
Spark plug filing
TB bypass
Any thoughts on whether or not this should work well together?
What I'm still unsure about is the use of an adjustable fuel regulator, possible ram air system and the mufflers vs cat-back system vs elims?
We have no emissions testing here, so I can get away with pretty much any exhust mod, but I'm limited on the work I can do on my own due to living in an apartment complex.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.. this forum rocks!
Yup.. All good cheap mods. Except the throttle performance switch. I have heard bad bad things like it does nothing but throw codes etc etc. Spend the 100 bucks on a air pump eliminator will give you more hp and clean up the engine area.
The adj. fuel pressure reg. is a tuning tool, not a performance part. It allows you to tune the fuel delivery, you'll need a fuel pressure guage and some strip runs for it to help. I got the Cold Air filter housing (filter turned 180 deg.). Any thing you can do to cool the incomming air will help your 1/4 mile times. Expeciley (sp)here in Fl. I live in Winter Park.
