What were the optional suspensions available on LT1 C4's? I am looking to buy a C4 to play with on a road course and autox course, and want to start with the right foot forward if ya know what I mean. Are all the brakes the same, or are there differences here also?
Thanks

funny, your looking for a c4 to race and I'm looking for an F-body. As far as desirable cars, and balancing price I would suggest an early ninties Z07 (excluding ZR1 in this whole discussion). it had the stiffest suspension of those years and LT1. '91-'95. '91 had the L98 though. Z07 is like a cross between the Z51 (stiff suspension) and FX3 which had electrically adjustable shocks. But lots of guys ditch them in favor of high $ units. depends what your really looking for and what you want to spend. its kinda hard to find a Z07 to beat on. It could be more practicle to pick up a base suspension and just add the Z07 springs, bars, and aftermarket shocks. Then again, the Z07 had 13" brakes when most others had 12". It also had 9.5" rims all the way around unlike the standard '93-'96 with 8.5"rims in front. '89-92 all had 9.5" rims all the way around. all '95-'96 vettes had 13" front brakes, also known as the J55 option. My guess is you want a 6spd. but in '96 it was only available with LT4. only autos of that year had LT1's. If you really pay attention to the suspension chart you'll see that the '96 Z51 is actually the same suspension as earlier LT1's with a slightly softer rear spring.

Thanks Brian & Morgan, what kind of F-body are you looking for? A 6 speed is a given, and and LT4 car is out of my budget.
