Was thinking of chrome'n them next year....but after peeling some more of the clear off last night...they look pretty shiny with the clear off.....I got the wheels done like 1 yr ago (had polished and this clear stuff put on, by Wheel Collision Center)....not very happy with results at all....anybody use one of the clear coat removal kits?....and if so how are the results..?....and does this leave the rim basically bare and subjectable to pitting or turning yellow?....I just want nice lookin rims again....

You should have them chromed. polished looks good but it will work you to death because you have to stay on them to keep them bright and eventually they will dull. but chrome stays plus to clean them is quick you can always take a little windex and wipe the shine on. chrome baby chrome and save some sweat

I had the same problem and sent my rins out to CORVETTEMIKES.com/ to have them chromed. The price was reasonable, the rims look great, I get alot of compliments, and they are easy to clean.

I guess there was no type of warranty then? Those wheel polishing kits worked great, my friend, GOTMETAL made his own for his 88 wheels, worked great. Too bad he only got 1 and a half wheels done then his 4+3 transmission went out then sold the car. Oh well. At least one wheel looked nice.

Go chrome. I just had my 92 wheels done... sweet! lots more looks... until then use eagle one mag wheel cleaner for Bare aluminum. It works excellent. I used it on my old rims that I'd stripped all the gray paint off of... it also cleans engine aluminum easily! effortlessly! but I'd have them chromed eventually. And yes they WILL be easier to clean... I'll bet the 90 rims are tougher than my 92. let me just say I'm sorry...
Good Luck, and shop around for chrome... I had mine done for $550 exchanged.

if you live in the northeast you may want to concider the long term effect of buyng chrome.you see if your car sits during the winter.condensation forms on the rims.at first no signs but as time goes on it will gradually take affect.little brown spots and maybe some peeling.its constantly going from one extreme to another.IMHO,IMHO!
