Anyone use the AutoTap scanner software that you can load onto a laptop computer? What do you think about it?

I haven't used it but if it lets you log a trace of all sensors and ECM outputs it would be very useful. It should also log in some convienent format or be able to export to one.

I know you can view most all data in real time and freeze and save to file, see the codes set etc., but I don't know all it can do. I was just curious if anyone had used it since it is cheaper than Auto Xray for OBDII cars.

I use one on my '96 to log data for ECM tuning. (I use LT1-edit to program my ECM) As stated above, you can either view data real-time, or record data to a log file (which can then be exported to a comma-delimited file to import into excel or other tool). There are a vast number of parameters you can track.

If you go to their website, you can download the manual ( www.autotap.com ). It has a detailed list of all the functions.

I like it. Wish they offered an OBDI version.
