Is that the biggest you can go for a '91 L-98 350 TPI?

I just installed the 190's on my 85 L-98. I had them angled milled to 60cc chambers and they work great with a .39 head gasket. See my track times.

Not a stock bottom end. Steel crank, light weight rods, and flat top pistons, everthing balanced.
I was seriously looking at a set for this motor but wanted to see what the "experts" in here would say before I pour $2000 just for heads. Basicly I want a 350,383, 400 CI SB w/TPI putting out 400+ hp . I just need some answers or advice on a combo set up.

That's your real limit. The TPI setup - no point in going to huge intake ports if your intake can't supply the airflow they need.
If you really want to get serious do a 396+ setup with a raised runner multi-port victor and some of the 215RR heads. Your talking 650+ hp there [img]http]//www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/wink.gif[/img]

OK I think I'm being slow here, but what does it look like? The raised runner multiport that is. Is that like a large box type plenum, with short high flow runners?? Like a superram?

Raised runner means just that - it's like you physically moved the runner up a bit - gives the incoming air a better path into the heads. You obviously need an intake which will bolt up - the one I mentioned would look like this

You would need to get it drilled tapped and welded for fuel injectors, and probably a new fuel rail. Throttle body could either be the stock one attached with a 90 degree elbow or a 4bbl billet unit (looks like a carb without all the "stuff". Tons of places do stuff like this, http]//force-efi.com/ for instance (no affiliation).

Even a normal victor JR would far outflow across the board a mini-ram or super-ram.

Will a set up like that fit under a stock hood?

With a 4bbl TB and a plastic/fiberglass air hat I have seen it fit - with the 90 degree elbow and a stock TB it will be close - I am thinking a cowl might be required, but will have to measure.

Would this be an emmisions legal setup? Where do all the vacuum lines etc, hook up to?

Emissions legal as in CARB E.O. number? Definitely nope. Emissions legal as in will pass/not effect emissions - yes!

A vacuum nipple is normally welded to the common plenum area and distributed from there - one or two for your vacuum accessories, and a separate/dedicated one for brakes.

Here's an off the wall idea for the throttle body etc. The electrical industry uses explosion proof cast aluminum (?) junction boxes. You could modify one of these so that the stock throttle body bolts to one end and machine an opening in the bottom to bolt to the intake. The box will also act as a plenum. You should be able to put fittings for the vacuum lines too.
