Is there anything to service with a stock unit on an '85 l98? Mine works fine, but it's sounds like its working alot harder than it should have to... Is there any spot to lubricate the setup?

Other than making sure the mast is clean and working free, nothing I know of. If it pukes, The Last Detail has good prices on OEM replacements for all C4s.

Haven't opened the one on the vette, so I don't know what it looks like, but I've refurbished several others over the years. Putting them back together can be tricky.
