Alright, I seem to have picked up a rattle on the rear of my car. It sounds like a plastic rattle on the inside, but I've never taken any of that apart and it doesn't look like there is anything to rattle. Anybody experience this before? It's fairly constant at highway speeds.
I had one when I was driving up to Boston 2 weeks ago...it was VERY hard to pinpoint on sounds alone. But it turned out to be the rear plastic decklid...where you snap the targa top in. It turns out that one of the mounting points had snapped and was rattleing around... It could very well be something different for you...but check that rear plastic piece! If it does happen to be that, Mid America has direct replacements for sale.

Nathan,
I had the same type of noise and it turned out to be a shock mount coming loose. Revoved the rear tire, tightened the two upper bolts and the sound went away. Hope this helps.
Nathan, My 92 had what sounded like a rattle last week, and I discovered it was the BOSE amp fixing to give up the ghost. After unplugging the speaker it is gone, but now no rear speaker...
My plastic trim pieces squeak also. I carry a screwdriver with interchangeable bits in it in the passenger door for fixing this problem. If one comes loose it will drive you nuts.
Here is my cure for rattles between plastic interior pieces. Apply a thin film of white lithium grease wherever you see a plastic piece mates with another. Assemble the parts being careful not to over tighten screws because the parts crack easily. Wipe up any exposed grease. Lasts forever.

I spent a whole day fixing all the squeaks and rattles about 2 years ago and none have returned. I must state that there are about 1000 places where they can start.
Using the palm of my hand, I smacked various components to locate the noise. I will take a while to train your ear to find the offending pieces.
I removed the carpeted rock panel covers and covered the bare rocker panel covers with Dynomat which is sold by Best Buy in the stereo installation department. This stuff is like tar paper.
I removed the door panels and put the soft part of Velco where they rubbed on the fiberglass door especially around the parimeter of the door.
I put Velcro under all the trim where it meets the body. In some places, I used the foam weatherstripping you can buy at Home Depot for sealing windows.
