You know what I mean. You hti a bump, CRUNCH CRUNCH SHAKE CRASH noises come from the rear, and the rear litereally feels like it's twisting.. like a pick up truck. How do I stop this? It's embarrasing. Same with the damn windows, they are hanging in the doors like a loose tooth, I've tried everything to fix 'em...

Bushings are the first things that come to my mind (should to yours too). Make sure you're spring it on tight too . I would imagine the spring would make a lot of interesting noises if not on all the way or anything.
Another thing would be the rear sway bar (maybe). That makes a lot of noise in the front, and could wear out in the back as well. Maybe the brackets holding it on are loose or something.

If its's just the body flex you're talking about, you could install a Harness-Bar. I put one in my 92 and just can't believe how much it tightened the car up. Very little flex now with or without the top in.

Roll bar!!! You will not have ANY body flex after that. It makes the car feel awesome. I just hope you are not a street racer, because it makes it very hard to get a race...

Guys, what do you mean by a harness bar - where do I find one of these? Are they simple to install. I know that gm must have reduced the body flex on these cars after my 85 z51. I'd be such a happy guy if I could get this car to feel like it won't fall apart when I go over railroad tracks. Thanks.

I think the best solution for bodyflex is a C5..but.. thats not gonna happen.
Okay - Rollbar questions.
Does it obstruct your vision? What do they have to cut up? How much does it cost? Will it keep me from putting the second top in the back of the car? Any pictures?
I dont want to spend more than $100 on a "harness bar"
I wonder if the convertible's X BRACE would give me what I'm looking for.

The rear sway bar bushings wear in the eye brackets. They make the hole in the link brackets oblong and this will cause a lot of noise and make the car loose in the rear.
The bushings for the bar and the links are the same and are easy to install.

You do have to remove the sway bar to change the bushings, or even get the end link brackets out... I don't understand the GM design philosophy behind this one... The sway bar end of the bracket has a bolt that is too long to remove while the sway bar is still mounted...
Also, the bushings are a press in design, so you'll never get the sway bar end bushings changed unless you remove it from the car...
It did tighten up the rear end a lot, but it magnified how bad the front end rides now... Next week I plan on looking into to front to see if there are any worn parts there...
I've gotta break the digital camera out and take a few pics of just how bad the bushings looked after only 63K miles... Makes you wonder how some of you older/higher mileage cars look under there...
