Can't seem to get the upper part to stay on the lip. When downward pressure is applied it just comes loose at the top. Dosen't seem to be much to hold it on ( maybe parts are missing)
This is a common problem. Usually the problem is that the plastic lip on the top of the door panel is broken. On mine, however, the car came from Phoenix and it must have gotten really hot at some point, because the plastic lip had deformed so it would no longer hold.
I ended up replacing both door panels. However, there was a post on here a while back from someone who figured out how to make metal brackets that would hold the door panel. Do a search, or hopefully someone will chime in.
This is definitely worth fixing. I just lived with it for a while, but when I got the new door panels it was like driving another car; there was so much less road noise.
