Default borla system

I just received the borla system i ordered last week but i still need a y-pipe and the pipe that conencts that to the CAT. would anyone recommend getting a custom y-pipe to fit it or would it be best to get the borla to match it? Also, if i get the conversion 2.5" y-pipe borla sells is that all i would need. i was told that there is also an extension that connects the y-pipe to he CAT. does the conversion Y-pipe make it so that is not needed?

thanks

My Borla 2 1/2 Y-pipe connected my cat to the mufflers. I have the 2 1/2 in mufflers for the L98. If you have the 2 in mufflers, you may need something custom made.

Default Y-Pipe

I purchased the full Borla cat-back system, and the Borla Y-pipe is all that you need!

i got a full catback from borla two mufflers y-pipe and flange
section(short section that joins y to the cat.careful to put the flanged straight section to the y pipe on right, the flange is
welded on an angle to the pipe. it will either raise or lower the
y section. at least thats the way it went on my 85.
good luck, i love mine and they sound great

the 84/85's had that flange you're talking about. the 86's and up didn't. you will need to buy a rear y-pipe made for an 85, that will come with the flange already welded to it. If you try and use the 2.5" borla it would need to be modified. I can build the flange for you and send it to you, but you would need to have it welded on, not to mention the OAL (overall length) should be correct - might have to saw cut. sounds like a lot of trouble to try and keep the exhaust stock fitting.
