. . . wooooooohooooooo! I thought this thing shifted like a monster before but now . . . dayum!

Anyone know how often the cable should be re-adjusted? It doesn't seem like a very robust clip holding everything in place. Of course it is very easy to adjust so maybe it doesn't matter.

What an easy way to pick up performance

The TV cable attaches to the throttle linkage at the throttlebody. Follow that cable back a few inches away (toward the passenger compartment) to a black, ummmmm, thingie fixed to the manifold that has a silver button in it. On the other side of the thingie (god I'm so technical) the cable continues but is captured/protected by a sleeve. So the main components are the silver cable attached to the throttle linkage, the black thingie with a button, and the sleeve/slide.
1. Engine not running
2. Push in button on black thingie - hold
3. Slide sleeve/slide away (toward passenger) from thingie until it stops.
4. Release button on thingie
5. Manually move throttle linkage to WOT
6. You are done

Pretty simple, although I admit that the results I know have are similar to what you describe as current. Good luck!
BTW, you would be amazed at how many "thingie's" I have on my engine
