Noises from the rear
Two things:
1) When I take off from a stop 3 out of 5 times I get this horrible ping sound. Not as deep sounding as a "Clunk" but more of a metal on metal ping. I definitely hear it on the drivers side not sure about passenger side.
2) Rubbing squeaking sound when taking off and accelerating up to about 50 mph again on the drivers side rear. The squeak speeds up as the tire rotation speeds up. Pretty loud when going slow and softens as I accelerate.
again, happens about 3 out of 5 times.
Both are driving me nuts an just started in the last week or two.
Thanks for any feedback
as for the noises I dont know what that it could be from your description..when it comes to these cars, it can be tricky to track things down. Then again my ears decieve me all the time so Its harder then to see where something comes from.Damn noises like to travel through them aluminum parts eh?
We can pull the wheel off and inspect the brake pads for looseness, check wheel bearings for wear or play, check half shafts and u joints etc.
Check all the bushings and spring bolt and etc back there, plus check the exhaust back there and make sure its not loose or something on one side..check your X brace as well under the back.
I dunno..just throwing around any ideas to look at and inspect.
May just be inspection time and road test and see what ya can pin point down more so what it may be.
Let me know if ya need a hand or not this week...if you check it out and find whats wrong, let us know too....talk to you later!!
