My '91 has a Bose Gold stereo system, and just yesterday when I was driving, the speakers made a pop and now the stereo only works sometimes. No AM/FM, just CD. When I turn the power switch off, the speakers buzz, and they buzz when the stereo is on but no CD is playing. About half the time, the CD will not play, but the deck says it is. (Track 1, 2, etc) Sometimes it doesnt work at all, not even the clock. I know I'm going to have to pull it out, but I don't know how, or how to replace it, as the slot looks too small to fit a normal aftermarket deck into. Anyone familiar with this?

Oh yeah, and it also never played CD-Rs.

check the control box is way up under the under the glove compartment is a pain to get to

Oh yeah, and it also never played CD-Rs

I hear that some older players will only play the 74 minute cd-r's.

Seeing as how I have 80 minute CD's, that makes sense.....I'll try a 74 minute.
