Default Where is coolant temp sensor (L98)

On an '89 L98, where is the coolant temperature sensor located? Is it on the block above the 6 and 8 sparkplugs, on the side of the radiator, or somewhere else on the motor? I'm asking because I'm getting an intermittent Code 14 with the car, and am not sure where the circuit to troubleshoot is. Thanks.

i'm not sure if it's the same as my 91 check the front of the manifold below the throttle body.

I think it is actually at the front intake lip; just above the water pump on the front of the block

It's the sensor under the TB in the intake base.

they should be the one on the side of your heads by the sparkplugs. There are two one on each side I melted both of them when my engine overheated. The one on the front is the cold start I believe. they are about $15 each. The other should be by 3rd and 5th spark plug right behind the alternator.

My '90 has the two, right side between 6 & 8 exhaust & then one at the front of the lower intake. Can't remember which is which, one is for temp gauge, other is for speed density system. I'd go downstairs & check my helms for you but I'm feeling lazy at the moment... ;-)

Sensor for the gauge is between cyl's 6 & 8, and the fan between 1 & 3.

Well when I melted the ones on the heads I did not get any temperatures readings.
After I put them on thenI got the temperature reading.
Just what I experienced.

On my '86 there are two temp sensors. The one between cylinders 6-8 on the right head is for the temp guage on the digital dash. The one that screws into the intake manifold right underneath the throttle body and next to the water inlet housing is the sensor for the e.c.m.

Front of the intake is the CTS that feeds the ECM.
Temp gauge sender is in the head.
