91 vert. can i remove the x brace??
i have a 91 convertable with many mods. with my tpis headers and 3" exhaust the x brace underneath the car has become a liability. ive shimmed it, bent it, kicked it and swore at it and it still rubs up against the exhaust. can i just leave it off or will i have too much flex in the frame without it?

Why don't you take it out and see for yourself. If the increase in frame flex is something you can live with then just leave it out. I would suspect that GM put it on there for a very good reason and you'll want to put it back after driving with out it.

I just took a cut off wheel to mine & notched it for clearance. Basically cut oval slots, pounded it w/ a big hammer & welded the closed up slots up. A little clean up w/ a grinder & black paint, by the time I got done it fit fine & still made my coupe more stable.
