Default Visable front end bounce?

Old hot rodder/newbie vette owner wants to know if it is "normal" to observe the hood/left fender area show movement when a sizeable bump/pothole (not real big) is hit. I would think there may be adjustments or cushining changes that would minimize/eliminate noticable movement. For most driving and roads, there is no noticable movement, only when it's a little on the hard side. OR Is this normal for a vette? 94 coupe/stock/Lt1/new Goodyear F1 GS-D3's @ 35 lbs. (95,000 mi.).
Thanks for your experienced/knowledgeable opinions.

My 85 did that too until I put an x-brace off of a convertible under it. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Take your targa top off and watch it bounce even more.

Though some experience such "looseness", I've not seen it in my '88.

You might try adjusting your hood hold down and cushion hardware.

Default This is called flexing....

Our C-4s flex when we hit a bump. There are braces that make the frame more rigid and thats why so many coups have cracks in the targa tops (because the vette flexes and cracks the top). This flex, when you hit a bump, make you make a slight change in direction. Its normal.

Default thanks for the advise all

I suspected the movement was normal for this model and your replies confirm this. Haven't driven it with the top off yet but did tighten one corner that did chatter (and looked at the targe top brace) for spring riding. I'll check the hood pins for adjustment too.
Thanks

Thanks

I wouldn't call it 'normal' . I keep my '85's bolts and screws tight, and I haven't had any movement of the hood or body panels durign flex.
The only notice of flex I ever get in the car is the rattle of the dash during bumps.. hehe

Default Rickwhoo-About the tires (F1's)

I only have about 300 miles on them with no rain time, they are much quieter than the older Goodyear Eagles GS-C that were on the car when I bought it, they had 5/32's on them but were dried and cracked slightly - But they held real well in when pushed hard in a dry turn. The F1's seem to also hold as well if not better but I can feel a little sidewall give to them. I'm new with vettes and am still learning where the limits are or should be. The tires do not get caught up in any road groves of formations, they've seen 120 mph so far and much smoother than the old tires (Hunter 9700 balance). I'm planning some fix-ups this winter and will give them a real test in the spring. Haven't burned the yet, investigating clutch worthyness right now.
