Default Lt1 Overheating

I Have A 95 Lt1 Stroked Out To 383 With A 160 Thermostat.

The Engine Overheated Appearing That The Thermostat Froze Closed.

I Changed The Thermostat To A New 160. However The Engine Is Still Overheating.

Both Water Pump And Fans Are Working.

Any Ideas???

Bad radiator. Or insufficient for the 383.

If everything is working, but the heat isn't being removed - that's all that's left.

just make sure you aren't severely airbound. after the stat change when you refilled. Did you let her cool all the way down and re-check your level? Does your heat blow good and hot? Just a few ideas...

Did you burp the system ( purge the air), check for debris in front of the radiator? and how hot is it running?

Does it overheat at idle, highway speed, or both?

The LT1 is extremely particular about filling up the coolant. As much info as possible would be good. The radiator could be clogged up or there could be so much junk on it that the flow is restricted.

As many details on behavior as possible will help us help you out.
