O2 Sensor Location
I've experienced a "wandering idle" problem on my '85 with a new engine and recalibrated prom. Stumbling thru the Tech Tips I found a Tip re. replacing the OEM O2 sensor with a HEATED one. Apparently some owners have experienced a rich condition at idle due to faulty readings from an improperly placed sensor on their Hooker 2149 headers.
Before I replace the sensor @ $50 with a heated one, has anyone experienced the same problem and solution????? Thanks, Jack

Before you replace the O2 sensor, use the ECM's Field Service mode (described on my site) to see if the ECM is going closed loop and staying there.
But usually a wandering idle is due to a vacuum leak or to a problem with the IAC.

Replacing with a heated O2 will probably not fix a hunting idle problem.
You need to do a TPS reset and IAC cleaning/reassembly first.
