Anyone running a 4 inch bore with 4 inch stroke. I am kicking around ideas for the next motor for the 87. Since torque is the goal this combo has me interested. Any input?
I'm running the 400sb with a 3.48in stroke. You want the 2 bolt 400 block. It's much stronger. 409 is a good motor. Lots of fun when put together with the right parts.
You have almost all the part to copy our 406 combos that ran DAMN good. I would shoot for that combo if your going to do anything. Or go all the way and do a 434

You are right on that one! My 406 is already assembled and ready to go. It is also a cast bottom end bullet. I don't expect it to live a long life. 434 sounds bitchen! I know a chip guy also. . I got a good feeling he will know what tune I need if I go that route.
