Ok. '96 LT4. Threw code p1416. Someone here told me passenger side check valve, sorry if I don't remember who. Got the part and now I can't get the old valve off!! Replaced one on my '94 LT1 Z28 about two years ago so I've done it before. But after one hour and twenty minutes all I got is sore palms from putting everythigng I got into getting this thing off. Do these things seize up on the car? Tried some PB loosener stuff after the first half hour and still nothing. Lefty loosey, righty tighty, right? WTF! I think the second 7/8 bolt it connects to moved a couple of times when I tried one wrench instead of two. Is thins thing supposed to move? Should I try to take the whole thing off? Very frustrated right now. Car repair, It's easy and it's fun! Thanks for any help.

No, the bolt isn't supposed to move. If it did, you're likely twisting the line. I had to change mine at the track earlier this year when it let go (hot exhaust makes short work of the rubber hose and anything nearby btw). I took the passenger pipe assembly off. I then put it in a vice and used a wrench and a looooong piece of pipe to gain enough leverage remove the check valve.

I was thinking of removing the whole pipe assembly too but it looked like a lot of work. Plus I couldn't see very well were the pipe goes into the back of the engine. Maybe I'll try to take the pipe out. Thanks.
