Default Ford Injectors

I have an 86 corvette and I replaced my orginal injectors with the Ford injectors. I noticed that the Ford injectors seem a little shorter then the original injectors. They don't seem to go all the way down the manifold injector ports. Is there going to be a problem with leaking. I'm using the Accel performance manifold. Has anyone shaved off the post for the fuel rail bolts to make the injectors fit all the way down. Also, any suggestions for replacing the fuel hoses that go from the fuel filter to the engine. I called the dealer and they dont make them anymore.

I am using the Ford 24# blue injectors in my stock TPI manifold. They were a little bit shorter, but I had no problems with leaks, or operation. Good luck...

Same here, shorter but they worked fine. Be aware that if you are going with higher lb injectors, or even same size as stock GM, the Fords are rated at a lower Fuel Pressure and you will be running rich. Some guys ay they have had no problems, but in my case I lost throttle response.

I have since burned a new chip and had to set the injector constant over 26 to get my BLM's in line, they were stuck on 108 (RICH) throughout the RPM/LV8 scale. That along with 2-4 degree's more timing above 1800 RPM and she runs better than ever.

The Ford injectors from 50 M.S. (the pink tops) worked great in my 91. Just put the in with a A.F.P.R. and drive. A friends 88 didn't work that way. See this post.
