Needs Some Advice on Scan Info
I have a 89 stock vette and want to learn how to diagnose problems using scan tools. I have an "AKM" cable and a laptop (WinAldl software) buy am not able to interpret what should be happening vs what is happening. Can anyone suggest some manuals or books on this subject. I do have the Helms manual but this does go into much details. Thanks in advance!!!

Sam its been a while since I used Winaldl, but the main#s you are looking for would be: BLM and INT, 128 is the target. Below is rich and above is lean. O2#s should vary constantly from 1- over 900. knock counts ,spark advance, and *retard should be there as well. You will see some knocks/retard the first time you stand on it. The computor will learn from this and the next time it will advance less. I am no expert but this may help a little.
