Default What can I expect with these mods?

Its modding season again. I've got a 92 LT1 A4. When I first raced it, essentially bone stock, the best I could do on the quarter was 13.84. A while back I put in 3.54 gears, which dropped my time to the low 13's, usually about 13.3, at around 105 mph. I just had a 2800 stall TC put in (thanks, SloRvette), and now I'm going to do the Hotcam package, including 1.6 RR's. What I'm wondering from those here who have done similar mods is what time I can expect with the addition of the TC and hotcam kit? Other than the muffler elims and the K&N/cut lid, the intake and exhaust are stock. Of course there are many other variables, but given the times listed above, what improvement is likely with these additional mods?

109 is pushing it.

might want to think about a different cam then the Hot Cam. alot of people put the hot cam in and aren't too pleased. in all actuality it is NOT a Hot Cam. other cams out there make more hp and are still very streetable.

i agree with Vader, Mid 12's at 107 mph.

i'll make an educated guess.

20 hp for the cam
10 hp for the roller rockers

if every 10 hp is 1 tenth and 1 mph then your looking at 12.8's at 108 mph.

109 might not be pushing it at all. I've already gone through the traps several times at 107 mph, on days when I can get a good hook. A 30 HP boost should be good for a couple of MPH, in addition to the improved 60' times available with the 2800 stall TC. I can't wait for April to roll around...

those days are over unless you run DR's. a TC will not help your MPH but will help in 60' times and overall ET due to the 60 times. to see maximum 60' times a 3200-3400 TC would do the trick. the 2800 on DR's could possibly still bog the car.

maybe 2 tenths with the 2800 TC which equals 6 tenths overall plus the additional 3 tenths. best optimum run could be a 12.2 once you get the launches down on DR's.

good luck!

BTW one of my friends has a 94 Z28 with 3.73 gears, 2800 stall, and a few bolt on's with weight stripped running ET Streets and his car runs 12.6's at 106 mph.

You were thinking along the same lines I was except I figured in his new torque converter for some more speed and then factored in loss of traction.

There will be some slip at launch, but we chose a locking TC, so I shouldn't have a problem from slip down the track. I hope...
