Does anyone by chance know the exact size of the bushings used in the headlights? I'd rather not pay $10 plus $9 for shipping if they will cost $2 instead.
I found some that work at a local auto parts store. They are in the generic parts section under the lable "HELP". As I recall they are actually for the Ford window motor, but they fit fine in my headlight motor and work great. I think I paid about $4 for them.
Of course some on this forum might take exception with putting Ford parts in a Vette.
I used ones from Lowes since that is all that is near me. 1/2 x .194 x 1/2 is the size. I think they change P/Ns or manufacturers regularly so the size is the best way to find them. They were in the hardware section and are called Spacers on the drawer (IIRC). Package of 2 - less than $1
EDIT: They are a little tight but seem to work just fine.
On my 1992, I used Home Depot spacers (item no. 595609) They were like .43 cents for a package of three. You will need six to repair both headlights.
Some Forum members have said these bushings failed shortly after installation, but mine have been working fine since installing them last summer. Just a head's up...
Oh, and click this link for installation instructions..
