This problem is on my daily driver (98 GMC Sierra PU) not my Vette, but thought someone on the forum might point me in the right direction. Steering is acting a little wierd at times, not constantly. It is a little hard to explain...... but here's my attempt. Sometimes when going into a long, sweeping curve the steering will seem as if it has too much power assist, in that the steering wheel will slightly move toward the direction of the curve and there will be no feeling of "steering response" for a second or two. By "steering response" I am referring to the feeling of opposite pressure of the steering when turning, but when this happens that feeling disappears and the steering wheel feels like there is alot of play in it for a couple of seconds, but then comes back.
Could this be my PS pump going bad, or possibly a rack/pinion problem?
