I would like to replace the hoses on my 96 power steering with braided ones. It has a PS cooler. Any suggestions?
Rippie sells a braided one for the high pressure line that runs from the pump to the rack. ~$100. Kind of a PIA to install but worth it if you participate in driving schools or open track sessions on road race courses.
The stock lines like to crack at the fitting. Not quite as bad on '96s since GM added an additional clip that secures the line to the accy bracket, but it still happens.
I'll second the suggestion of the Rippie braided line. I cracked the high pressure line on my 96 three times over the course of 5 weekends of autocrossing!
Bogus the why is I took the LT4/6spd from my wrecked 96 and have it in my 64 Grand Sport that I am building. I am going to do a little racing so now is the time to change it.

interesting. I was unaware that under race conditions that the ps lines could rupture. not good. thanks for the heads up, guys!
