Default 91 Vette with Holley Stealthram

Got the hood cut yesterday. Actually, we cut off more than what we needed but I wanted a vent for the intake manifold top. I know, TTIWWP so here are a few:

On Photo 1, you can see what it looks like installed.

On photo 2, you can see how much I cut it.

On Photo 3, you can see how much I needed to cut it to make it work.

On Photo 4, you can see the Greenwood Hoodscoop that covers it up nicely and can figure how it will look once I get it painted.

Looks great! Will you be using the hood scoop for intake air?

I need the scoop otherwise it will have a hole in the hood. I will be using the scoop so that cold air comes over the top of the intake manifold to keep it cool.

How does it perform? Hood issues kept me running a TPI.

Well, with the same engine and transmission on my firebird, I made 411HP at the wheels. Since mycar was wrecked, I extracted the tranny, engine and transplanted it into a 91 Vette which was the last year of the L98 engine.

Spank, I don't follow. C4s have been running TPI for quite a while without clearence problems from the factory. In fact, I believe they ran TPI from 85-91. Why would yours be any different?

Of course, you can run the Accel Superram without any hood modifications.

Guess I was kind of vague. I was looking hard at the Holley. Hood issues with IT, are why I stayed with a stock type TPI.

My hood closes and you don't have to cut that much off. I did it just so when I am driving the cold air comes thru the hood scoop and cools down the intake. I will get a painter to try match the rest of the hood when he paints the scoop. Total cost is about $150 for the paint and cut work (cash) and about $200 for the scoop from another person who changed his mind about the project
