Default Need help! 95 won't start, again!

Hi all,
I haven't really posted in a while because of my hectic work-load right now, but I need some help, suggestions, nad otherwise.
I have a 95 Auto w/ about 127k on the clock. I have had nothing but trouble with it for the past year. I have replaced the piece o' crap opti-spark about 6 times now and counting. It seems everytime it rains or gets humid outside, my car decides not to start. My mechanic can't figure it out. They've checked all the wiring, seals, etc. and still have nothing to show. The last time they replaced the distributor was in mid-September. About 2 weeks ago it wouldn't start and wouldn't start, but would finally turn over when the car had sat without moisture in the air, albeit a little rough at first, it was enough for me to drive it to the shop. Of course when it arrived, they could find absolutely nothing wrong. Now today, the same thing happens again. It started raining heavily last night..

Anyone have any ideas whatsoever?

That's odd, I never had that problem with my '95 except for the coil wire rubbing on the water pump.

My '93 had trouble with condensation.

BTW, you need to shrink your sig pic down.

See sticky thread.

What was the deal with the wire and the water pump?

Thats' the thing, no evidence of anything getting inside, except for it being completely filled with water last time they changed it....The thing is with that, that they have no idea how it got in there, nor do I. I don't wash the engine or anything like that, waterpump doesn't leak. It's crazy.

I had one that was flooded with oil because of a manifold gasket leak, but that's fixed. The newest case is the water in the opti, not coolant, not oil, plain old water...

As far as I know. They replaced the harness, the opti, and the check valves, so everything is new. The car runs fine, bt then all the sudden...nothing. No start, no turn-over, nothing.

Even if it were the water pump, it would most likely be coolant and not water...

OK read through the thread more and it's just plain clear water.......hmmm can't really see it getting water there any other way other than driving in the rain or washing your engine bay but you said you haven't so I have no clue.

this is odd... very odd.

next time you pull it apart, take the water sample to a water conditioning shop and have them test it... or the University... someone who will test the contents... find out where it's coming from.

"No start, no turn-over, nothing" tells me that you have another problem besides water getting into the Opti. There's a relay that engages the starter - not sure where it is, but you might start with that. Could also be the ignition switch not recognizing the resistor in the key, or the key itself. I feel for you - I know it's frustrating when you spend lots of time and money and still can't get the beast to work properly. Keep us informed of what you do and find, please.
